Introduction The Stony Lake MoundIn the mid 1980's, we were witness to an excavation of a Burial Mound on private property near Lake Michigan in Oceana County. No bones were removed from the mound. Coins from the year of excavation were placed on the skeleton and the moundwas restored to it's original condition. Eventually, all the material recovered, except for some charcoal samples, were returned to the mound.
